Meet the team

Ed Wakeford

Managing Director

Ed is a Chartered Engineer with an MSc in Real Estate and over a decade of experience in the property industry. He has led the Nyfield property business as Managing Director since 2025, having previously headed the same team as Property Director at Stepnell for ten years.

As Managing Director, Ed has overall responsibility for the Group’s performance and is driving the evolution of the business into a modern, innovative organisation, while remaining firmly grounded in the values established by previous generations who built a successful and sustainable enterprise. Central to his approach is the belief that, as a landlord, long-term success is achieved through genuine partnership and collaboration with customers, enabling both businesses and people to thrive.

This philosophy was instrumental in the delivery of the innovative development at Nyfield Business Park, where the business manages the site-wide electricity network and solar generation across a multi-let estate, creating tangible benefits for both landlord and occupiers.

Ed is also responsible for identifying and delivering new acquisitions and development opportunities, supporting the continued growth of the business.

Tom Astill

Senior Commercial Property Manager

Tom is a Senior Commercial Property Surveyor with extensive experience across the commercial real estate market specialising in retail, office and industrial assets.

Since beginning his surveying career in 2013, Tom has built a strong reputation for delivering strategic commercially focused advice to clients ensuring that optimal value and outcomes are achieved. His expertise spans freehold along with landlord and tenant matters including rent reviews, lease renewals and advisory work. Tom holds a MSc in Real Estate from Nottingham Trent University and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Driven, collaborative and commercially aware Tom combines technical knowledge with practical insight to help clients navigate the commercial property landscape with confidence.

Roger Bell

Building Surveyor

Roger is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 30 years of post-qualification experience across residential, commercial, industrial, and licensed retail sectors.

His expertise covers all aspects of building surveying, including building pathology, stock condition reports, landlord and tenant matters (such as dilapidations and licence for alteration works), structural surveys, and enforcement of lease obligations. He also manages projects from specification and tendering through to full contract administration for new build and refurbishment schemes valued between £500K and over £1M.

Property Administrator

Property Administrator supporting to our Management Team, Residential Property Manager, Property Management Surveyors, Property Building Surveyor and the Maintenance Team.

Jackie Maughan

Property Accountant

Jackie is a highly experienced Property Accountant and a Fellow of the Association of Accounting Technicians (FAAT), with nearly 18 years’ experience in property accounts for Nyfield.

Diligent and highly efficient, she is responsible for the accurate recording and allocation of rent receipts, and for raising monthly and quarterly invoices for both residential and commercial tenants. Her role includes managing bank reconciliations, overseeing all aspects of the sales and purchase ledger, and ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time.

Jackie maintains robust and well-organised financial documentation to support audits and tax compliance, and has extensive experience in the preparation and reconciliation of VAT returns, including partial exemption adjustments. Known for her thorough approach and commitment to excellence, she never leaves matters unresolved, ensuring financial processes are completed accurately and to the highest standard.

Lisa Pauley

Residential Porfolio Manager

Lisa Pauley is an experienced Residential Portfolio Manager with 25 years in the property industry, including over 17 years in her current role.

She is known for building close, trusted relationships with tenants and takes a highly customer-focused approach, genuinely caring about their wellbeing and experience. Lisa works in an honest and direct manner and brings a wide breadth of industry knowledge, keeping up to date with ever-changing legislation as well as current market trends, values, and movements. Her role is varied and hands-on, encompassing property viewings, credit checks and references, and the coordination of repairs and routine maintenance. She also ensures full compliance across the portfolio, including EICRs, EPCs, gas safety certificates, and deposit protection, and carries out regular property inspections to maintain high standards throughout.

Liz Shaw

Business Administrator

Liz is Nyfield’s Business Administrator. She is part of the admin team and helps keep the office running smoothly.

Rebecca is a Commercial Property Assistant supporting the management of commercial property portfolios comprising office and industrial assets. Drawing on over seven years of experience within the serviced office industry, she has developed strong expertise in occupier relations, facilities management, contractor coordination, and operational budgeting.

Working closely with the commercial property team, Rebecca assists with a broad range of property management activities including occupier liaison, service charge administration, compliance monitoring, and property inspections. Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented, Rebecca combines practical operational knowledge with asset management support to ensure properties are run efficiently while maintaining an exceptional standard of service. She is committed to continuously developing her industry expertise, with a particular interest in lease administration, compliance, and landlord and tenant matters.

Led by Foreman and Site Manager Karl Tate, our Maintenance Team includes skilled carpenters, painters, and plumbers who deliver reliable, high-quality maintenance and project work. With a strong focus on efficiency, safety, and workmanship, the team ensures sites are well maintained and run smoothly, meeting the needs of both tenants and landlords.
